Carolina Gold Ribs

Mustard-tangy, fork-tender, low-effort. Oven does the work.

Ingredients

Rib rub

  • 1 tbsp smoked paprika
  • 1 tbsp paprika
  • 2 tsp celery seed
  • 2 tbsp brown sugar
  • 2 tsp kosher salt
  • 1/2 tsp cayenne
  • 1 tsp garlic salt
  • 1/2 tsp freshly ground black pepper

To finish

  • 2 rib racks
  • BBQ sauce

Make it

  1. Using a mortar and pestle, grind all the rub ingredients together until everything is crushed.

  2. Smear the rib rub on the meaty side of 2 rib racks until coated.

  3. Place ribs on a cookie sheet, cover with foil, and bake at 300°F for 3 hours or until fork-tender.

  4. Broil the ribs for 2 minutes before removing from the oven.

  5. Brush the meaty side generously with BBQ sauce — we used Lillie’s Q Carolina Gold.
